I am seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join a long standing client in Coventry on a temporary to permanent basis. The role will support the Finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial information through effective management of reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and other key accounting processes. The role ensures compliance with internal controls, assists with month-end and year-end reporting, and contributes to the smooth operation of the organisation’s financial systems.Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Process and monitor accruals and prepayments in line with month-end timelines and accounting policies.
Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures, including journal postings and variance analysis.
Support the preparation of management accounts and financial reports for internal stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with financial controls and support the implementation of best practices.
Assist in maintaining accurate fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
Liaise with internal teams and external partners to resolve discrepancies and provide financial information as required.
Assist with audit preparations and respond to queries promptly.
Undertake ad hoc finance tasks to support the team and organisational objectives
